Privacy policy
Effective October 17, 2026. Applies to LineAlert and other mcsio apps.
The short version
We don't want your data. There are no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no ads, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
What the app stores on your device
- Your ticker list, settings, and the price history it downloaded. Kept in the app's own storage.
- A data-provider API key, if you enter one. Kept in the iOS Keychain.
What is sent to us
If same-day alerts are on, the app sends our alert server two things: an anonymous Apple push token for your device, and the list of ticker symbols you watch, plus your two EMA periods. That's all we need to send a push when a cross happens. The token can't identify you and is deleted when Apple reports it dead or when you delete the app. We don't log IP addresses beyond standard short-lived server logs.
Turn this off by clearing the server URL in Settings; alerts then come only from on-device background refresh.
Third parties
- Apple delivers push notifications and handles purchases. We never see your payment details.
- Twelve Data (or Yahoo Finance in development builds) supplies price data. Requests contain ticker symbols only.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
